Whit’s Best of ’15

Coming up with a list of my favorites isn’t at all hard for me. I LOVE books! What’s hard is limiting it to 11. I really struggled with this. Which is why mine is the last to go up. I was forced to leave off a few that I really felt should have made the list because Faye is evil and she makes me follow the rules. Pfffffttt…I really didn’t like leaving off Sacrati by Kate Sherwood. Or Breakaway by Avon Gale. Or Wedding Favors by Anne Tenino but Faye made me. She’s a mean lady~ Whit

1. The Lightning Struck Heart by TJ Klune

Nonstop hilarity meets brilliant fantasy. This book had me professing my love to everyone who would pay attention. It’s ridiculous and amazing. Who else besides Tj Klune can give you a super flamboyant mouthy unicorn and make it fit seamlessly into the the story? This will be one of those books I reread for years. I’ll buy every format it’s released in. I can’t even express how much I loved this book! Probably my favorite read of 2015.

2Shay’s Best of ’15

It’s been an interesting year and not always in a good way.  These books helped me through some bad times.  I want to thank every author who entertained me for a while.  You all rock!  And these are in no particular order.  I loved them all.

1. Grey: Fifty Shades of Grey as Told by Christian by  E.L. James

25644601Anyone who know me at all knows that there was never a doubt that this would be on my favorites list.  Christian and Ana fascinated me from the beginning and they still do.

1. In The Middle Of Somewhere by Roan Parrish

25687508Such a stunning debut novel by this author. The expressive, poignant writing is superb – evoking a great connection with the characters and settings. This book had a profound emotional effect on me, as I felt every emotion along with Daniel & Rex during their impassioned journey. I can still vividly picture every location, can smell the welcoming aromas present in the settings: such as pine, cedar, roast chicken and freshly baked gingerbread. Reading the end scene, I was smiling like a big old, satisfied, love sick fool wrapped in a cocoon of contentment. This book is one of those that has, and will, stay with me for a long, long time.

Faye’s Best of ’15

My 2015 was a little crazy. Unfortunately, a lot of it wasn’t spent reading, and I was unable to really connect with a lot of the books I did read. So, here’s my list of what I did really enjoy this year.

1. Jackdaw by KJ Charlesjackdaw

This book was excellent. I can’t overstate its excellence. Read it. I don’t care if you don’t like paranormal or historical. It’s just really good.

It’s time for best of the year lists again! They’re in no particular order. The books are all from ’15 plus one wildcard. ~ Faye
1. Mocker of Ravens (SPECTR 2, #1)  by Jordan L. Hawk

I love the dynamics of the relationship between the three MCs, coupled with the fact that two of them inhabit the same body! The concept is both fascinating and wonderfully executed.
