Blurb: Sometimes the little head really does know best.

Jeff White’s needs are simple. All he wants is a submissive to help him explore the dominant side that his ex-girlfriend couldn’t handle. Problem is, inexperience in both dating and domming has resulted in a string of rejections.

What he needs is an experienced sub willing to show him the ins and outs of controlling a scene. Unfortunately, the only one willing to take him on is male, and Jeff is straight. One hundred percent, never-gonna-happen straight.

Easygoing painslut Eddie Powell doesn’t care that Jeff is younger, working class, and shorter. Eddie likes a bit of rough, and Jeff fits the bill perfectly. The trick will be convincing him to follow Eddie’s five-step training programme—which would be easy if Eddie wasn’t starting to have feelings for the rough-around-the-edges landscaper.

Once Jeff lays his hands on Eddie, things definitely get out of hand. But it’ll take more than hot, sweaty, kinky sex to persuade him to come out of the closet—especially to himself.

Warning: Contains a happy sub, a confused Dom, a high ratio of sex to plot, misuse of root ginger, and a suitcase of kink. Written in Jo’s usual exceedingly “English” English.

Blurb: In a town as small as Tyson, CA, everybody knew the four brothers with the four different fathers– and their penchant for making good music when they weren’t getting into trouble. For Mackey Sanders, playing in Outbreak Monkey with his brothers and their friends—especially Grant Adams–made Tyson bearable. But Grant has plans for getting Mackey and the Sanders boys out of Tyson, even if that means staying behind.

Between the heartbreak of leaving Grant and the terrifying, glamorous life of rock stardom, Mackey is adrift and sinking fast. When he’s hit rock bottom, Trav Ford shows up, courtesy of their record company and a producer who wants to see what Mackey can do if he doesn’t flame out first. But cleaning up his act means coming clean about Grant, and that’s not easy to do or say. Mackey might make it with Trav’s help–but Trav’s not sure he’s going to survive falling in love with Mackey.

Mackey James Sanders comes with a whole lot of messy, painful baggage, and law-and-order Trav doesn’t do messy or painful. And just when Trav thinks they may have mastered every demon in Mackey’s past, the biggest, baddest demon of all comes knocking.

How to Train Your Dom in Five Easy Steps: Blog Tour

Guest post and giveaway by Josephine Myles: Inexperienced Doms

Part of the How to Train Your Dom in Five Easy Steps Blog Tour

shy leatherman Doms in BDSM fiction are nearly always older, richer, more experienced, and physically larger than their subs. It’s a cliché I’ve written before in Screwing the System, so for my second BDSM novel—How to Train Your Dom in Five Easy Steps—I was keen to try something very different. Why not write an inexperienced Dom who needs to be trained by a sub? And to make it even more interesting, why not make the sub richer, posher, older and taller than him?

It’s not the first time I’ve written a novice Dom and experienced sub—I explored the idea in a short story in the Winter Warmers anthology—but it’s not a dynamic I’ve read outside of the occasional erotic short story. It got me wondering why this is. I mean, I can certainly see the attraction for the sub in teaming up with someone who knows the ropes. BDSM fiction abounds with novice subs on their erotic journey, but spare a thought for the poor old Doms. They aren’t born knowing exactly how to wield a flogger; they need to learn how to do this stuff too.

Spend any time plying a kinky type with drinks, and they’ll soon start telling you a bunch of hilarious stories about the times things went wrong. But that’s what learning and growth is all about, after all. Having a Dom learn from his mistakes interests me far more than him being perfect—I want to see character growth, and the emotional journey involved in accepting you get your kicks from dominating, humiliating and/or hurting your (willing) partner is a fascinating one to explore.

However, in addition to the emotional growth in this scenario, the potential for slapstick comedy is one I just couldn’t pass up. Jeff—the hapless and apparently straight hero of How to Train Your Dom in Five Easy Steps—has a history of failed first dates with women. What’s more, gossip about one particularly embarrassing screw up is circulating in the local scene, meaning none of the women want anything to do with him. Fortunately Eddie can see his potential and is convinced that once Jeff grows in confidence he has the makings of an excellent Dom. And perhaps having a male sub to train him will be helpful as Jeff will be better able to concentrate on the technical aspects of Eddie’s Five Step training regime if he isn’t distracted by lust.

leather kissThat’s the idea, anyway. But lust has a funny way of surfacing despite Jeff’s avowed sexual inclinations, leading to mistakes involving candle wax and a violet wand…

Readers, what do you think: are novice Doms sexy and interesting, or would you rather read about men who know it all already? And do you have any recs for other stories featuring Doms who are still learning the ropes?

Blurb: John Dearborn, newly dumped, meets a handsome stranger named Vic. Vic is a little weird, but he’s a catch—sexy, sweet, and an animal in bed. If John didn’t know better, he’d think Vic were too good to be true.

And in fact, Vic has a secret: despite his impressive good looks, he’s normally gray-skinned, hairy, and four feet tall, just like every other fairy in the woods. But to catch John’s attention, Vic is masquerading as a human—temporarily. When the spell breaks, Vic turns into a fairy again, John freaks out, and their relationship shatters.

Vic can’t go back to sleeping in a dead tree and eating bugs; he needs his human body, and he needs John. He has one last chance to pick up the pieces and become a human man again. But now there’s a catch. Vic will only remain human if he can wring a commitment out of a hurt and wary John, and the spell will keep him from confessing his feelings. Instead Vic has to show John why they’re so good together, and he can think of only one way… Continue reading The Catch

You see, Angel got himself into a bit of trouble by scheduling a fetish shoot with The Sounding Board when he’s never even been tied up.
