Blurb: Bookish Tierney Haven has always preferred places to people, and she especially loves the peace and quiet of Moonstone Manor, an estate museum located in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, where she is head docent, chief historian and live-in caretaker. The very last thing she expects to find on her doorstep in the middle of the night is bruised and bloodied stranger, Burr O’Leary, in desperate need of her help.

Against her better judgement and at the risk of her brothers’ wrath, Tierney offers Burr sanctuary at Moonstone Manor, and nurses him back to health, surprised to discover that the dashing, enigmatic stranger loves the history and peace of Moonstone as much as she. But Burr has a dark history, and those who hurt him will stop at nothing to eliminate him…placing Tierney in grave danger until he is well enough to find them first.

Book #1: Fighting Irish (Rory and Brittany)

Book #2: Smiling Irish (Tierney and Burr)

Book #3: Loving Irish (Ian and Hallie)

Review: Luscious and utterly captivating, this story about an old-fashioned girl and an undercover cop on the run really rang the bell for me. Innocence and ugliness up against one another. Date I guess which will win?

Tierney Haven is shy and reclusive, the caretaker and head of the tours at a secluded, New Hampshire estate. She tells the history of the beautiful estate to those who come through on tours, but her own life is going nowhere. She’s not interested in meeting anyone…or at least she hasn’t been. Watching her brother Rory with his new girlfriend makes her wish she had what they have–a relationship.

Burr O’Leary is an undercover cop on the run from the Boston gang he’s been gathering evidence on the last two years. Someone’s given him up, and he’s just witnessed his sister getting shot. Where can he go? Following the directions from his partner to a safe hideaway, he instead shows up at Tierney’s house.

Why does she trust him? Because she’s got brothers his age and he speaks Irish? Or the fact that he was concerned that he’d hurt her? Whatever it was, it started a dialogue between them–physical and verbal–that moved them forward into an uncertain future. They develop strong feelings for each other quickly, but he’s a Boston cop and she’s a small town New Hampshire museum director. Is there a future for them? Plus, with bad forces after him, will he ever be free to love someone?

Also, more importantly, be able to keep them safe?

Deliciously romantic and sweet, it’s a perfect next novel in the Summerhaven series.
