Blurb: The Spark of an Old Flame
Last time Lila Harris was in Happy, Texas, she was actively earning her reputation as the resident wild child. Now, a little older and wiser, she’s back to run her mother’s café for the summer. Except something about this town has her itching to get a little reckless and rowdy, especially when she sees her old partner-in-crime, Brody Dawson. Their chemistry is just as hot as ever. But he’s still the town’s golden boy-and she’s still the wrong kind of girl.
Brody hasn’t had much time lately for anything other than ranching. Running the biggest spread in the county and taking care of his family more than keeps him busy. All that responsibility has him longing for the carefree days of high school-and Lila. She may have grown up, but he still sees that spark of mischief in her eyes. Now he’s dreaming about late-night skinny dipping and wondering how he can possibly resist the one woman he can never forget…
Review: Obviously, I’m going to love a romance in a small town in Texas since I was raised in a small town in Texas. What can I say to convince those who don’t have my background? This sweet and sexy second chance story is filled with humor and depth and is sure to be a great summer read.
Lila Harris is proud of her ability to keep the former wild child part of herself in check. She’s been gone from Happy for many years and has a respectable job as a school teacher. However, as soon as she enters the city limits of her childhood home, she’s back to feeling like that wayward wild girl of 17. No one believes she’s changed.
Brody has lived many years with regret for the way his relationship with Lila ended. He’d let her down. Maybe this time he can ask for forgiveness? She’d shot him down the last time he’d seen her. Meeting her at the cafe makes him realize the spark is still there, at least for him. Will she ever give him the time of day?
As these two find forgiveness and understanding, will they also find love again? Great read with great and sizzle, Texas style. Thanks!
