Blurb: Watching Jude’s cam show stirs desires Shawn’s always denied…
Shawn is adrift. Recently graduated, he’s stuck in a dead-end job that barely pays the bills. His girlfriend dumped him, his friends have moved on, and he’s still in Plymouth—going nowhere.
Jude is a student living in the same shared house. Out and proud, he’s everything Shawn’s been running from since he hit puberty. When Shawn discovers Jude works as a cam boy, he can’t resist the urge to watch one of his shows. It makes Shawn want things that scare him, yet his fascination forces him to confront his attraction.
Keen to explore his bicurious side, Shawn suggests they do a show together. Jude agrees, and things get complicated—and kinky—fast. But Jude isn’t looking to get involved with someone so deep in the closet. If Shawn’s going to get what he wants, he needs to find the courage to stop hiding from himself and be honest about who he is.
Review: This book can be read as a stand alone. There are characters and couples from previous books but I think you could pick this one up and enjoy it. One of those characters is Shawn. I know we all thought he was straight but turns out he’s bisexual. After his girlfriend dumps him he’s struggling with himself. He’s graduated. Still living in the same flat. Not really interested in a different job or pursuing a career. Basically he’s kind of in a funk. Then he accidentally walks in on his roommate Jude doing a live internet show of the sexual kind and it peaks his interest. He leaves but decides to watch a few of Jude’s shows proving he’s more than just curious. Shawn decides he’d like to do one with Jude. Of course he uses the excuse of making money as the reason why. He knows he’s attracted to men but actually acting on it is another thing. Shawn and Jude play it up for the viewers paying them but they find the compatibility between them is more than either man has ever felt before. Things spill from behind the camera into real life forcing them both to face whatever it is happening between them.
This book was super hot! I’m not always a fan of lots of sex but this author has a way with writing it. It doesn’t feel like too much. There’s a lot for the guys to work through. So much emotion between them. You feel every little step of the connection deepening as you read. There’s also a little bit of kink. Jude is gay and experienced. He knows what he likes. Jude starts by helping Shawn through his first scene but quickly sees how Shawn reacts to being bossed around made to do what Jude wants. This works for him because likes delayed gratification and being in charge. The sex and emotions meld together to make for some really lovely moments.
The characters are flawed making them feel more real. Shawn’s fear of being outed makes him say and do some hurtful things. Jude’s pride won’t let him be a dirty little secret. The love story is good with just enough tension to keep you turning pages. I really enjoyed this book. If you’re in the mood for something a little more on the steamy side I’d definitely suggest picking up this book.
