Blurb: Cade: I tried. I really tried. I should be out of this small town by now, finishing my law degree and partnering up with my buddies, but I couldn’t resist one last street race. Now I’m sidelined in the hospital, and while my injuries will heal, I’m not so sure my voice will return. What kind of attorney can’t talk? Yeah, exactly. I’m afraid that I won’t be able to come back from this . . . until Tasha Montgomery reawakens every competitive bone in my body.
Tasha: I nearly watched Cade Wilson die on that lonely stretch of road. He’s damn lucky just to be alive, even if he doesn’t realize it. I know he’s destined for bigger and better things, but I don’t mind helping him get there as he relearns everything he took for granted. Cade’s a good student, a real perfectionist; I can tell how much his stutter bothers him. But when he lets his kisses do the talking, everything else disappears. And one day, maybe he’ll be able to tell me that he wants me—as much as I want him.
Review: Steamy and sensual tales are the standard for this talented author, and the second Lost Boys delivered in gangbusters. Sweet Tasha had learned her lesson about dating handsome players. She had been burned badly by her last boyfriend Tony. While she’d been planning their future together he’d been making plans with other girls who also thought they were his one and only. Duh. Luckily she’d finally caught on, but that didn’t make it easy seeing him around school.
Cade Wilson was a tattooed former street car racer who’d been involved in a life-changing car accident that nearly cost him his life. While he’d recovered physically, he still wasn’t able to speak without a lot of trouble and a stutter. His law school plans were just another consequence from the accident, and seeing his friends moving forward with their plans to rent the dream office downtown didn’t sit well with him. Why were they moving in with their lives without even looking back to see if he could catch up?
When Tasha kept showing up at the hospital, at first he was irritated, thinking all he saw was pity in her blue eyes. As he got to know her better, though, he realized she was just as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside–and he was ready to have her in his life. But he’d been burned by a spoiled rich girl before. Would she come through for him, or was he doomed to repeat his mistake?
Having read the previous book in this series, I was already aware of the things that had brought them to this place, but I don’t think it is necessary to have read the first one.
I loved this fast-paced story about this unlikely couple who prove once again that opposites attract. Read it!
