What happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay in Vegas.
Cody Hayes is having one epic morning-after. The hangover following a Vegas bachelor party is nothing new to him, and neither is the naked man in his bed.
His apparent marriage is a different story.
Carefully plotting every detail of his life carried Julian Canales to a Senate seat as an openly gay man. A drunken night of Truth or Dare isn’t like him… and neither is marrying a man he just met. He’d get an annulment, but the media has gotten wind of his hasty nuptials. If Julian’s political career is going to survive, he has to stay married to a man who’s his opposite in every way.
Now he must convince Cody that all they need to do is survive a conservative political rival, a heartbroken ex, their painful pasts… and an attraction neither man can fight.
Review: This book was so much fun! I love a book that leaves me satisfied and happy. Suddenly Yours was adorable, witty and sexy. I loved all the humor. I laughed out loud so many times while reading this book. I went back and reread one of the chapters once I finished because it was just that good. This book is one of my favorites so far in the Dreamspun Desires line. I don’t like my books too sweet. This one had a nice balance of sweet and serious. The MCs were totally lovable and had amazing chemistry. They also had a some issues to work out to find their happily ever after.
Cody the aspiring writer and part time waiter wakes up married to Julian the Senator seeking reelection. Their drunken courtship was short but one of the most amazing nights of their lives. The two men bonded over their rejection of love as something they need to be happy. The morning after they have to face reality. Julian is out proud. His platform champions equality and family but a quickie marriage in Vegas to a stranger doesn’t exactly fit the image he’s put out there. The guys have a choice. Get a divorce and beg for the public’s mercy or try to give it a 6 month trial period. That’s long enough to get Julian through the election and see if they really want to spend their lives together.
I absolutely adored the MCs. Yes they’re frustrating and oblivious at times but it works for them and the story. They have to get past their hang ups with love to realize what they’re feeling for each other. They’ve essentially made a deal to not fall in love with each other. Which of course happens. I also think the no hanky panky rule they make builds some delicious sexual tension between the two. Their banter back and forth in the beginning was amazing. It continues on in the book in smaller doses but as Cody struggles with keeping emotions at bay he loses some of his playfulness. Which just makes Julian try that much harder to make him happy. Julian does his best to make their marriage his version of ideal but reality throws curve balls at them. They get it all together in the end though. I love Cody and Julian together. They’re funny, sweet and crazy sexy. I would easily recommend this book to anybody who loves a humorous steamy read with some depth and great characters. This book made me happy!
