Blurb: The name’s Lio, and you may have read the beginning of my story in A Cupid’s Wager. Well, hold on to your hats, because there’s more to tell about your favorite cupid working in the Gay Division of the Inter-Dimensional Association of Cupids.

Remember Ethan? That Aztec god of the winds who busted me shooting a closeted human with a gay lust arrow? Yeah, I haven’t been able to forget him either. Even though I have a rule against getting it on with other supernaturals—especially ones working for the Straight Division—my magic is drawn to Ethan and all his tattoos and piercings in a way I cannot control.

But after that night of mind-numbing sex, now I gotta face my evil ex-boyfriend and a suspension by the IDAC for “misplacing” arrows. They took my quiver, and I have to figure out how to get my arrow privileges back before they’re taken forever.

Ethan seems to think he can help me, but I don’t know how anybody can make this cupid believe in love again.

Review:  This was a super fun book about a low level cupid who always seems to be in trouble meeting his soul mate. The dialogue was quick and witty. A little raunchy. I can honestly say I haven’t read anything quite like this before. While I laughed out loud a large portion of the book, there were some very tender heartfelt moments. A lot of personal growth for the main characters Lio and Ethan. AND it’s SUPER sexy. I have to say lately I’ve been mostly skimming sex scenes but these were smoking hot. I enjoyed this book quite a bit.

Lio is still mending a broken heart after his ex used and cheated on him. He also literally stole a huge piece of Lio’s magical essence. Lio is understandably bitter when it comes to love. Which is pretty bad when you’re a cupid! His job now is to shoot potential couples with lust arrows in the hopes more will come of it. Lio is part of the Gay Division of the Inter-Dimensional Association of Cupids. So he really shouldn’t be shooting “straight” guys with his arrows. However when his gaydar, an illegal tool in this world, pings him on a guy as gay he shoots him for his own good. Like forced self revelation. He has no idea he’s just messed with a soul mate match arrow being delivered by Ethan the God of Wind and a bunch of other stuff. Ethan and Lio fight over Lio’s interference and unsanctioned lust arrow usage. Lio in a fit to prove an arrow can’t make a guy gay if he’s not interested in other dudes stabs Ethan with one. This doesn’t have the effect on Ethan Lio expected.

I adored this couple. Lio is pretty negative when it comes to love and doesn’t trust easily. Yet he was a lot of fun to read about. Cupids in general are pretty free with the lovin’ but he’s sworn off supernatural hook ups all together. Too risky to put what little of his source he has left. Ethan is big and sexy. Very powerful and kind of an enigma in the supe world. Initially he starts off gruff because of what Lio has done and the affects his actions will have on the future. That quickly gives way to some crazy hot sex. I mean it’s somehow down and dirty sex but also full of tenderness. I was pretty impressed with how the author wrote that combo. Ethan knows from the beginning he wants Lio but Lio can’t and won’t be open to them being together. There are many reasons why he feels this way.

I loved all the crazy characters in this story. The baddie is vile and made my skin crawl. Most of the secondary characters added so much fun to the story and support to the main characters. The world building was totally unique. I’d love to read another story based in this world. It’s vivid and a tiny bit silly in the best way. I’d consider this a light and humorous super sexy read. A good love story. It’s also a story of hope. How someone can be utterly destroyed emotionally but with a little love and time they can find themselves again. A little hardened but smarter in the end. I really liked this one.
