Blurb: Sawyer Bennett never fails to deliver heroes I fall hard for and heroines I adore,” raves Violet Duke. Now the bestselling author of the Cold Fury series proves that vengeance is sweet—but seduction is to die for.
Sela Halstead lost her innocence in a way that no sixteen-year-old should ever have to endure. She’s spent years trying to forget that night even while wondering about the identities of the monsters who brutalized her—until a telltale tattoo flashes across Sela’s TV screen. The incriminating ink belongs to Jonathon Townsend, the millionaire founder of The Sugar Bowl, a website that matches rich older men with impressionable young women. Obsessed with revenge, Sela infiltrates Townsend’s world, only to come face-to-face with a tantalizing complication: Beckett North, his charismatic business partner.
The tech mastermind behind The Sugar Bowl, Beck always gets what he wants, in business and in bed. And yet, for a man who’s done every dirty thing imaginable, there’s something about the naïve, fresh-faced Sela that sparks his hottest fantasies. Because with her, it’s not just about sex. Beck opens up to her in ways he never has with other girls. So why does he get the feeling that she’s hiding something? In a world of pleasure and power, the shocking truth could turn them against each other—or bind them forever.
Review: Omgosh, this book was crazy!! One minute I’m freaking out over the vendetta this girl has, then I’m worrying about who was part of the attack, and then…the cliffhanger!! Yes, I knew going in it was a CH, so that wasn’t the shock. But the CH was awesomely terrible, a complete cluster freak of an ending that had me checking on the date of the sequels!!!
Sela Halstead has spent a lot of time trying to get over the horrible attack that had happened to her at sixteen–until she sees an image on the television that points her in the right direction to find one of her attackers.
Then revenge becomes the focus of her life. She’s going to go into his world, wrangle a way to get him alone, and then she’s going to wreak havoc on him. Unfortunately, her plan doesn’t work out exactly like she’d hoped. Instead of catching Jonathon’s eye, she’s sucked into a relationship with his friend Beck.
And what a relationship it it is!
Beck was the software mastermind behind the super popular Sugar Bowl website dating service. He and his partner Jonathon, the face of the company, were rich beyond their wildest dreams and since its inception, they’d partied their way through more random, hot sex with gorgeous young women than most men do their entire lives. Did that make him tired of sex? A little, until he spots Sela at a party. Something about her really touches him deep down, but he’s also suspicious that there’s something she’s hiding from him. What’s her secret? And why does he fell like it’s going to be devastating when he finds out?
The climax of the story completely flustered me–gah!!!! It reminds me of those stories you read where the male character is talking about what an asshole he is but you laugh and love him anyway. These people are engaged in such crazy relationships, the premise is so completely ludicrous, that you shake your head and think Really? while you just keep…..on…..reading.
Love love love this! I can’t wait for August for the second!!!!!!
