Blurb: They’re perfectly in tune—but only when it comes to their music. This sizzling romance from New York Times bestselling author Erin McCarthy follows Nashville’s hottest country music duo as they fight for love in a city where dreams often cost a broken heart.

Self-made singer/songwriter Jolene Hart loves everything about being on top in Nashville. Well, everything except her very public breakup with Chance Rivers, her sexy masculine other half. Once the hottest duo on the scene, they turned Music City on its ear. Now their careers are as cold as their relationship. Which is why their manager has practically locked them in a remote cabin with nothing but a guitar, a bed, and time to do what they do best: make some beautiful music together.

As Nashville royalty, Chance has big boots to fill—and the pressure that comes with ’em. He fell hard for Jolene, but he couldn’t handle the spotlight, the crowds, and the fights that made headlines and killed any notion that love and success could go hand-in-hand. Still, Chance is more than willing to rekindle the one thing that worked: the wild passion behind their hit songs. Soon they’re making up for lost time, in the steamiest ways possible. But Chance finds himself wishing for the impossible: that their intimate hideaway could last forever.

Review: I have to admit, I’ve been a long-time fan of Erin McCarthy. Little squee here–so excited to see that the Sexy in New York series is continuing!! Anyhoo, this book was a beautiful, classic romance with two misfits who are looking for love in all the wrong places…but somehow stumbled into love with each other.

Jolene has made it big in Nashville and her career is thriving, but everyone wants her back with Chance. Their pairing eighteen months before had led to a crazily successful matchup that had generated not only a love affair between the two of them but two best-selling albums and enormous success. The Hart-Rivers franchise was booming, so when they broke up and simultaneously broke up the brand, more than just Jolene and Chance were destroyed. Their careers were as well, but not if their agent Gloria had anything to say about it. Forcing them back together to write their third contractually obligated album was a stroke of genius on her part, but it didn’t feel like it to either of them. Staying together and creating love songs after they’d gone through a tumultuous breakup? Nuh uh..

Of course, since this is a romance you can pretty much write out the rest of the story by yourself. Boy and girl who broke up are forced to go into seclusion with each other and write songs about love. What do you imagine will happen? You know in a romance you’re guaranteed an HEA (happily ever after), but it’s the way that Erin McCarthy writes that makes this story rise above others. She’s always written hot and sexy love scenes, but she’s able to bring the emotional fire and internal dialogues into the story line in a way that make them both relevant and heartfelt. You care about each character and even though there are times you just wish they would really TALK to each other, when they ultimately DO, it’s deliciously rewarding.

Read her books because they’re sweet, funny and sexy. Read the series because you’ll learn to love all the characters she builds her worlds with. And go back and read the Sexy in NYC because they’re amazing, and finally after ten years, they’re getting finished!! 🙂 Thanks!
