Blurb: Love—on the rocks….
The last thing Vaughan Hewson expects to find when he returns to his childhood home is a broken hearted bride in his shower, let alone the drama and chaos that come with her.
Lydia Green doesn’t know whether to scream or cry in a corner. Discovering the love of your life is having an affair on your wedding day is bad enough. Finding out it’s with his best man is another thing all together.
Just when this runaway bride has nowhere left to turn, a handsome stranger offers her a broad, muscular shoulder to cry on. Vaughan is the exact opposite of the picture perfect, respected businessmen she’s normally drawn to. This former musician-turned-bartender is rough around the edges and is facing his own crossroads. But Lydia’s already tried Mr. Right and discovered he’s all wrong–maybe it’s time to give Mr. Right Now a chance.
After all, what’s wrong with getting dirty?
Dirty is the first book in the Dive Bar series from bestselling author Kylie Scott.
Review: Kylie Scott rocked my socks off with this great story about a rocker returning home–where he’s welcomed back with a bang. Nothing like finding a runaway bride in your bathtub.
The star of this story is Lydia Green, the aforesaid runaway. Unfortunately, she doesn’t really understand the awesomeness that is her. Minutes from the altar she gets a video of her fiance Chris Delaney having sex with his best man, Paul. Escaping from the McMansion she and Chris had moved into, she heads for the only place to go–the small, unkempt home beyond their back fence. There, hiding in the tub in the wreck of her wedding dress, she meets the owner face-to-private-parts.
Vaughan Hewson has finally returned home after staying away the last ten years. His band’s broken up and he’s trying to figure out what to do next. He’s got to talk to his sister and make some decisions neither of them are going to like. And this woman hiding in his tub…is gorgeous, but what the heck’s she doing there?
This story was hot and sassy and the dialogue had me laughing out loud in several places. I really loved who Lydia turns into, and who could resist Vaughan? The story was genuine and the characters were so heartfelt, I can’t wait to see more of them in the other books in the series. The Dive Bar is a great setting and I’ve got a feeling the stories are going to be even better than Nell’s cooking! Read it and get in on the start of the next great Kylie Scott series! Thanks
