Blurb: Lisa Scottoline delivers another searing, powerful blockbuster novel that explores hot-button issues within the framework of an intricately plotted thriller. When a woman and her husband, desperate for a baby, find themselves unable to conceive, they decide to take further steps. Since it is the husband who is infertile, the heroine decides to use a donor. And all seems to be well. Three months pass and she is happily pregnant. But a shocking revelation occurs when she discovers that a man arrested for a series of brutal murders is her donor – the biological father of the child she is carrying. Delving deeper to uncover the truth, the heroine must face her worst fears, and confront a terrifying truth. Most Wanted is sure to be Lisa Scottoline’s most discussed, bestselling novel yet.

Review: There’s a reason some authors are on the bestseller lists again and again. It’s because of the excellence and consistency of their writing, which always remains a step above others. Ms. Scottoline is well known for her legal thrillers, and with this thriller, she has not only met the bar but gone above it.

Infertility issues put couples into a club they don’t want to join. Desperate to have a child, Christine and Marcus choose to have Christine inseminated with donor sperm over adoption–at least this way, their baby would be half-related to them. While on the surface Marcus seems amenable, inside he’s devastated with the fact that he’s not able to father their child. It colors every discussion they have and even seems to dampen his enthusiasm when she actually becomes pregnant.

Christine is fully embracing her impending motherhood. She’s leaving her teaching job and is making the baby and Marcus the center of her life. What happens, though, if she finds out something devastating about the biological father of their baby?

What if Donor 3319 isn’t who they think he is? What if he’s a serial killer known as the “Nurse Murderer?”

One of her coworkers has the television on in the background of her going away shower, and she can’t help but think his face looks eerily similar to the donor that she and Marcus chose. What if it’s him? At first, Marcus poo-poos her idea, but after a few calls and some suspicious behavior on the part of her doctor and the Homestead Sperm Bank, Marcus becomes convinced something’s up.

Events start spiraling down as Marcus and Christine become alienated from both her fertility doctor and the clinic, who’re refusing to give them any information unless legally required to. As Marcus pushes his own agenda about lawsuits and possibly ending the pregnancy, Christine is faced with a choice.

Can she find out on her own? She’s paralyzed by crippling fear for her baby and torn between choosing her husband or her unborn baby. Will she and Marcus ever be able to bridge the huge gap that is forming between them? And what if it’s true?

Is a serial killer born or raised?

Excellent read about an impossible situation with a heroine who rises above the facts to create an ending of her own. Thanks for the great, suspenseful read!
