Blurb: Jefferson Lee Davis, Holly Creek’s new Director of Publicity, is gearing up for the next big town event, the summer Rose Festival. The job is running smoothly, but the course of true love has hit a rocky patch. His hunky boyfriend, Sheriff Zane Yarbrough, is receiving mysterious phone calls he doesn’t want to discuss. While Jefferson Lee is blindsided by jealousy, the second shoe drops with the appearance of a handsome stranger in the small tight-knit community. Needing answers, Jefferson Lee enlists his best gal-pal Clover Crofton to help find out what secrets Zane is hiding. When they land themselves in more trouble than Jefferson Lee bargained for, he and Zane face the first big test of their relationship. Zane and Jefferson Lee must work through their trust issues if they’re going to make it as a couple, and Clover may just have a thing or two to learn herself.
Review: I adore Holly Creek! It’s full of quirky characters that entertain but also give you that warm and fuzzy feeling. The dialogue is wonderfully witty. Jefferson and Zane are soooo steamy but totally adorable at the same time. I love getting to visit Holly Creek. These books are fun and always leave me feeling happy.
This story starts up right after the last book. Jefferson is working in his newly hired job for the city of Holly Creek while also keeping the blog going. He’s doing a great job and his new relationship with Zane the Sheriff is great. They’re moving fast but they can’t slow themselves down either. Things are perfect until Zane gets a phone call that has Zane is being secretive about it. Jefferson relents to his best friend Clover’s prodding for answers about his sour mood and tells her he’s wondering about the the guy from the phone call. Which was a mistake because Clover takes them on a super spy mission to find out who he is that ends with them in trouble with the law.
I really liked this book. I was laughing out loud or smiling the entire story. These stories are like little charming vacations from my reality. I can’t wait to pick up the next one. I’m hoping for a little romance between Jefferson’s ex- roommate and the sexy gardener from book one. There is no set up for that I’m just hoping for it! Clover meets her match in this book as well and I can’t wait to read more about that. Clover is an evil mastermind in pearls. The scenes with Jefferson and Clover crack me up! Zane is ready to move their relationship to the next step but Jefferson is hesitant. Spring Fever is a charming witty read with great characters I love to spend time with. You’ll definitely want to read these in order.
