Blurb: Blazing Miami sun. Cool classic cars. Dangerous undercover assignment. In Sidney Bristol’s scorching new Hot Rides series, the cars are fast and the romance is furious…
Aiden DeHart has a history–and secrets. His classic car garage is a front for an FBI operation. His current mission: get some evidence from a drug dealer’s ex-wife, then get out. Madison Haughton sending his engine into overdrive isn’t part of the plan, though, especially considering she might not be as innocent as Aiden thought…
Since her divorce from her sleazeball ex, Madison has sworn off bad boys, gotten some sweet tattoos, and become a star of Miami’s roller derby scene. But however fast she skates, her ex is always on her tail. When the sexy guy in the muscle car offers to help, he could be her ticket to safety–or a detour down a deadly road…
Review: Madison Haughton had turned to the straight and narrow after she left her bad boy ex-husband, Dustin Ross. Unfortunately, that didn’t mean she left behind his crimes. When the cops came calling along with the mysterious stranger who showed up at her job, she knew that keeping Dustin out of her life was going to be harder than she thought. If only she had ignored the temptation of taking something of Dustin’s when she’d left.
With the help of the mysterious stranger, Aiden, it looked like there was going to be a chance to leave Dustin behind for good. His offer to help her get rid of the drive that had Dustin and the cops following her around 24/7 was perfect. But when attraction ignites between them, she’s got to worry about more than her stupid ex. Will she be able to escape from Aiden with her heart intact?
Both Aiden and Madison are complicated characters who’ve been abandoned by their families, Aiden because of the death of his sister and Madison because of marrying Dustin. They share the feeling of family loss as well as a strong desire to create a new life on their own. Madison still wants to have the white picket fence and husband and kids, but Aiden just wants to go on by himself. The author has created an interesting dynamic between the two main characters–they’re very attracted to each other but Aiden’s survivors guilt creates a wall between him and his happily ever after.
With sexual tension thick enough to cut with a knife, these two characters clash in a fast paced world filled with hot cars and cool nights. Read it!
