Blurb:  When a professional relationship turns personal, it’s impossible to resist the law of attraction.

Alec Rowland is a high-flying lawyer in a London firm whose career is his life. He doesn’t have time for relationships and his sexuality is a closely guarded secret. After picking up a cute guy on a Friday night, Alec’s world is rocked to its foundations when his one night stand shows up in the office on Monday morning—as the new temp on his team.

Ed Piper is desperate to prove himself in his new job. The last thing he needs is to be distracted by a crush on his boss. It’s hard to ignore the attraction he feels, even though Alec’s a difficult bastard to work for.

Both men strive to maintain a professional relationship, but tempers fray, passions ignite, and soon they’re both falling hard and fast. If they’re ever going to find a way to be together, Alec needs to be honest about who he really is because Ed won’t go back in the closet for anyone.

Review:  This book features one of my favorite tropes to read about. The boss and his employee! Alec and Ed meet at a gay bar one night and just hit it off. Alec is an ambitious lawyer with a partnership in his near future if he can just make his current deal happen. He works too much. Has almost no social life. Alec picks up a guy at a bar when he can’t ignore the need any longer. He’s out looking for a hook up when he spots Ed. Ed has sworn off one night stands because they always make him feel like crap the next morning. He’s moving on to the next phase of his life. Ed is starting a new job and lives with his best friend in the city. He breaks his rule when Alec’s wants to take him home. Their chemistry is too good not to give in. They end up spending the entire night together but Alec gives him the cold shoulder in the morning. It hurts Ed even though he knew it was coming. He tries to put it behind him and focus on his new job he’s starting come Monday morning. Which just happens to be working under Alec on his big project.

This book was super sexy. Like smoking hot sexy. More and more lately I’ve been skimming sex scenes in my books. This book infused so much emotion, want and need into every encounter between the two I loved every minute of it. There was a sense of urgency and finality because each time was supposed to be the last. They just kept coming back to each other. Their close proximity at work helped them get to know each other better and tease them endlessly. Alec’s struggles with having feelings mixed in with his desire for a man for the first time in his life. So he’s a little angry and inexperienced with how to handle the situation between them. That conflict of wanting something he shouldn’t or can’t have. I enjoyed how his character felt strong and confident but vulnerable at times also. He was so firmly in the closet he didn’t realize how lonely he was until he met Ed. Ed was adorable. He’s out and proud but wouldn’t ever expose Alec. Ed is very understanding of Alec’s position but he’s also not willing to be someone’s secret. So he tries his best to resist the attraction that burns so strongly between them. They of course fail miserably but they tried so tension was so damn good. And when they give in it’s amazing! Then they pull away again. This can be frustrating but for me this worked so well. The anticipation had me turning the pages. I loved the couple and their journey together.

Obviously I really enjoyed this one. There’s very little angst. Great characters that grow as the story progresses. Alec learns so much about what he really wants out of life and to get it he has to stop hiding who he is. Alec and Ed have amazing chemistry together. I love when you can feel yearning and how the guys can’t get each other off their minds. The love story is realistic and sweet but balanced with all that delicious tension it makes this a really good story. I highly recommend this one.
