Blurb: Justice served. Honor restored. Team reunited.
After a long battle to discover the truth, the men and women of Hard Ink have a lot to celebrate, especially the wedding of two of their own–Nick Rixey and Becca Merritt, whose hard-fought love deserves a happy ending.
As Nick and the team shift from crisis mode to building their new security consulting firm, Becca heads back to work at the ER. But amid the everyday chaos of demanding jobs and their upcoming nuptials, an old menace they thought long gone reemerges, threatening the peace they’ve only just found.
Now, for one last time, Nick and Becca must fight for their always and forever, because they know that when true love overcomes all the odds it lasts hard ever after.
Review: I have been a fan of this series from Laura Kaye, so this review may be a tiny bit biased. They’re great romantic suspense novels with powerful, alpha males and strong females. The people just rock and roll in these stories because Ms. Kaye knows how to pull the reader in and keep them coming back for more. I love the former military turned badass security company–that trope really works for me–and Laura Kaye is one of the best at it. The balance of hot sexy times, combustible chemistry, dirty talking men, and edgy violent suspense just works! I highly recommend it to you.
Nick and Becca are getting married. If you’ve read their book, Hard As It Gets, you’ll know the story about how they met. Lots of tough times have occurred to them since then; and in this story, the whole Hard Ink group is rebuilding and matching up with partners. It’s a happy time for them all…if they can make sure to keep the bad guys away.
Becca thinks it’s nerves and paranoia causing her to keep seeing the man that attacked and nearly killed her. Nick and the rest of the crew are concerned, though; and through their sources, they find that he’s left the state. So why does she keep seeing him? Nick is afraid that she’s suffering from PTSD–very familiar to the men of Hard Ink from their time in the military.
Until he receives some important information that changes everything…
How can you not love this book? A gift from the author to her Hard Ink fans, it’s a sweet romantic story for characters we’ve grown to love. But if you know Laura Kaye and her writing, just keep reading. There may or may not be some suspense in there. 😉
