Blurb: The last thing Cleopatra Knight expects on her business trip to Tokyo is to fall into bed with her arrogant, irresistibly hot boss, Dante Damaso. It’s a mistake—a steamy, mind-blowingly satisfying mistake. But a few nights of passion with the super wealthy bad boy prove to have long-term effects when Cleo’s world is unexpectedly turned upside down.
Dante has cultivated an enviable, jet-setting lifestyle: beautiful women, exotic destinations, and luxury without limits. He’s not looking to be domesticated, and certainly not by his assistant—even though he can’t get her out of his mind. Still, he knows he has both the responsibility and the financial means to help Cleo.
Though Cleo has no interest in Dante’s money, her lack of prospects gives her little choice but to accept his help. But living under the same roof, Dante discovers he wants more, and if Cleo lets down her guard, she just might find what her heart’s wanted all along.
Review: What a great story! It had humor, it had pathos, there were parts that made me cry and parts that made me snort-giggle. I loved the environment too. Just all in all a superb read.
Cleo Knight had lost her dream three years ago in the hands of her best friend Callum. He’d accidentally dropped her during dance practice when her off-balanced leap had sent them both tumbling. The subsequent injuries to her knee, hip and legs made it extremely unlikely she’d ever dance professionally again. Since then she’d wandered around in a daze; taking the administrative assistant job with her brother’s friend Dante Damaso was a last ditch effort at supporting herself. She refused to teach dancing, afraid she’d be too envious of those who still could–so here she was, doing a job she wasn’t really qualified to do, for a man who seemed to hate her.
Dante wasn’t sure why he was allowing Cleo to stay. She stank at the job, but his main problem was his insane attraction to her. Plus, his friendship with her brother made him afraid to can her. He was trapped. Unfortunately, their attraction flared into an affair when they traveled to Japan. How was he ever going to face her when they got back? Or her brother/his friend Luc?
Cleo knew the moment she slept with Dante that it was a mistake. Hopefully they could forget it and move on. But dammit, why was there such unbelievable chemistry with him? She really didn’t like him at all…
Of course unexpected consequences change their plans, and as they start spending more time together, it starts to look like they really don’t hate each other at all.
But can they make it work through the last bump?
Interesting and intriguing, this warm-hearted romance had surprises galore. Thanks for a great read!
