What does Ty think he can do that she can’t? All Monica knows is that she doesn’t dare trust him—or is it herself she doesn’t trust?…
The battle lines are drawn. The stakes are high. And the attraction can’t be denied—especially the more closely Ty and Monica have to work together. Some odds are just meant to be played, and with chemistry this electric, it may be time to grab life by the horns…
Review: This crazy story is edgy, funny, and hard to ignore. Set against the backdrop of Las Vegas, it’s as bright and shiny and as risky as that city is, with a plot that pushes the limits and characters that are a lot too big for life. But you know what? They work in this book, and by the end I was shocked at the cliffhanger and totally befuddled as to what would happen next. Take that!
Ty Morgan is trying to rebuild the hotel he’s been managing the last seven years along with his business partner and friend Tom Brandt. Ty’s father, Wild Will Morgan, had formed Brandt Morgan Entertainment with Tom when they were in the rodeo business years ago. After Will’s death at the hands of a Mexican fighting bull, Ty had been a silent partner until seven years earlier, when he’d nearly destroyed himself, and Tom had dragged him to Vegas to run Hotel Rodeo. Now, the hotel that had saved his life needed a new life of its own, and Ty needs Tom’s money to do it.
But is Tom going to agree?
Before the contracts can be signed, though, Tom has a stroke and <entering stage left> is Monica Brandt, adopted daughter of Tom. Who’s not sure about Ty’s motives and suspects he’s trying to sham Tom out of a lot of money. Great start to a relationship, right? He thinks she’s a bitch and she thinks he’s a con artist.
Monica’s running from both her ex-fiance Evan and her job at his investment firm, Hirschfield & Davis. Her suspicions about Ty are vying against her incredible attraction to him. Everywhere she looks she sees signs that he’s not the crook she thinks. Can she let herself fall for him? Before she can decide, Evan shows up in Vegas determined to win her back. Between his shenanigans, Ty’s jealousy, and her father’s illness, she’s having a hard time with everything!
I liked a lot of this book and even though there were some glitches, overall it was pretty compelling and kept my attention from the start. Read it if you enjoy engaging stories with a lot of heat and flash! Thanks.
