2Shay’s Best of ’15

It’s been an interesting year and not always in a good way.  These books helped me through some bad times.  I want to thank every author who entertained me for a while.  You all rock!  And these are in no particular order.  I loved them all.

1. Grey: Fifty Shades of Grey as Told by Christian by  E.L. James

25644601Anyone who know me at all knows that there was never a doubt that this would be on my favorites list.  Christian and Ana fascinated me from the beginning and they still do.

2. Heart Scarab (Taking Shield #2) by Anna Butler

Sci-fi is not an automatic buy for me, but Anna Butler’s stories caught my attention and wouldn’t let go.  This book is one of the most emotional reads of the year.

3. Mrs. John Doe: A Thriller by Tom Savage

I hate dropping this book into number three.  This book is so entertaining that it deserves to be number one.  It was forced down the list by some amazing authors.  Tom Savage is rapidly becoming an auto buy for me.

4. In The Dark by Chris Patchell

This is a new author for me, and she rocked it!  One of the best mysteries in a while.

5. The Slayer (Untamed Hearts #2) by Kele Moon

Kele Moon never fails.  She writes, I read.  Simple.  I love her stories and I love her characters.

6. Commodity by Shay Savage

27211726Falk!  The hot bodyguard with the great name.  I’ve read pretty much everything Shay Savage has written, I think.  Keep in mind that this is the author who gave me Transcendence, a book that will be in my favorites list forever.  Falk is Ehd from a different time.  Luffs!

7. Lies (Intrepid Women #5) by Kathryn Jane

The most authentically written story about horses I’ve read in many, many years, by an author who knows what she’s talking about and weaves her knowledge seamlessly into a great book!

8. Releasing Rage (Cyborg Sizzle #1) by Cynthia Sax

25799111I would have never guessed that I would enjoy so much sci-fi.  Between this author and Anna Butler, I’m becoming enchanted by the alien worlds.  Cynthia Sax has a beautiful story with a lot of underlying social commentary.  A treat in every way.

9. Vanished 3 by Carter Quinn

The final installment in Carter Quinn’s excellent mystery.  And it was worth the wait.  All questions are answered and we finally see the resolution.

10. Kill Without Mercy by Alexandra Ivy

The first book in a new series that I expect to be following for a long time.  I love the characters and the style.

Wildcard: The Lost Codex by Alan Jacobsen

This book shouldn’t be anyone’s wildcard, but I ran out of places to put it!  This is a great book with one of my favorite fictional heroines, Karen Vail.  This should be on everyone’s must read list.
