Blurb: When Amelia Parker arrives in Maui, newly single and unemployed, she’s shocked to discover the resort she booked is actually a ramshackle little beachside hotel. At least the scenery is easy on the eyes—as is the toned, laid-back snorkel instructor, “Dude.” After two weeks of sun, serenity, and mind-blowing sex, she even accepts a job as the hotel’s concierge. But what Amelia really wants is to relaunch the place completely. And that means convincing the absentee Wall Street billionaire owner, Samuel Kincaide, to take a chance on her.
Samuel has a plan, too: selling off every last reminder of his former life and chilling all day, every day as his slacker altar ego . . . Dude. He loves his romps in the ocean, and under the sheets, with the feisty Amelia. If she discovers his true identity, her boundless enthusiasm and innovative business plan will seriously diminish his hammock time. But when Amelia runs into real trouble on the island, he’ll put everything on the line to keep her safe. He just hopes that the woman who’s falling for Dude will feel the same about Samuel.
Review: This is a great, fast read with the perfect amount of sunshine and pineapples to beat the winter blues right out of you. You know how you have beach reads? Well, this one’s the opposite. It’s got a warm and sunny atmosphere perfect for reading while you’re stuck inside, away from the ice and snow.
Amelia’s got a lot of luck, it’s just all bad. When she finally pays off her pricey Hawaiian vacation and is ready to board the plane the next day with her boyfriend, she gets several very unfriendly jolts from fate. First off, she loses her job because she won’t cancel her vacation. Next, she finds her wealthy boyfriend in a compromising position with her barista–too bad she’ll miss the coffee more than she misses the man. And now she’s homeless, since she’d lived with said rat bastard. So she grabs her aunt and flies away to Hawaii, sure that two weeks in paradise is going to fix everything–or at least she hopes!
Samuel Kincaide ran away from his profitable Wall Street career after watching his mentor crash into the floor with a massive heart attack. We all know stress kills, but it’s a lot different when it’s someone you love. He’s got enough money to never have to work again, and why should he? But seeing himself through the eyes of the beautiful Amelia has him changing his ways. It’s not so fun anymore pretending to be the slacker Dude who hangs out in his hammock all day. He’s got to tell Amelia the truth about who he is, but how?
Great, sexy novel sure to get your mind off the snow outside your window! Thanks!
