Blurb: The first book in New York Times bestselling author Katie MacAlister’s sexy, steamy Dragon Falls series.

For Aoife Dakar, seeing is believing-and she’s seen some extraordinary things. It’s too bad no one else believes that she witnessed a supernatural murder at an outdoor fair. Returning to the scene for proof, Aoife encounters a wise-cracking demon dog-and a gloriously naked man who can shift into a dragon and kiss like a god. Now thrust into a fantastical world that’s both exhilarating and terrifying, Aoife is about to learn just how hot a dragon’s fire burns.

Kostya has no time for a human woman with endless questions, no matter how gorgeous or tempting she is. He must break the curse that has splintered the dragon clans before more of his kind die. But his powerful attraction to Aoife runs much deeper than the physical-and there may be more to her than even his sharp dragon eyes can see. To survive the coming battle for the fate of his race, he needs a mate of true heart and soul…

Review: The secret to getting me to love your book? Mix a huge helping of humor into your plot, add lots of hot sexy times, and then cap it off with a couple of reluctant main characters. BAM! I’m a sucker for the humor! Katie McAlister knows how to do that really well–she’s had me hooked since I read her book Improper English many moons ago. This new series started off with a really clever twist and just kept going–I loved the heroine’s feisty, quirky attitude–and the hero’s refusal to let her know she was his mate? Priceless. Nothing better than getting dragged into love, dragon style. And Jim? ~sigh~
When Aoife went to a mysterious outdoor fair two years ago, she’d been a witness to what she thought was a fantastical murder–so fantastical it got her stuck in a looney bin. Now she’s out and determined to prove to herself that she’s fine. She revisits the site of the fair and finds not only a strange dog in the road but an unconscious man on the beach. When they turn out to be part of a strange, mythical world of dragons and demons, she’s not sure whether she’s still delusional or if she was never crazy to start with!
Kostya is from a black dragon clan that has been decimated by a curse from a bad demon, and he’ll do anything to get his family and clan back. He’s not sure he’s got time for love–he’s supposed to be the head of his clan and doing everything he can to solve the curse. But she’s so gorgeous and he wants her so bad…
Katie McAlister’s world-building is very interesting in this book, but the dialogue and the humor is what makes it absolutely outstanding! I love the tips from the therapist that Aoife had during her two year incarceration, and the surprise at the end was as shocking to me as it was to her. Read it if you want to laugh, read it if you want a new spin, read it for fun! It’s great 🙂
