When retiring rugby star Ash Trenton considered his next career move, coaching troubled teens at his ex-girlfriend’s California camp wasn’t on the list. But when Camila Morales reappears after eighteen years, begging for his help, he can’t say no to his first and only love.

Camila was just sixteen when Ash moved on to start his rugby career, leaving her heartbroken… and on her own to make a life-changing decision. Now she needs his help to win a tournament prize and save her camp. Relying on Ash is the last thing she wants. But while it’s hard to get over being dumped for a sport, it’s even harder to ignore the rush of attraction that has only gotten stronger after so many years apart.

Coaching teens is the hardest job Ash has ever had, and the task becomes personal when he begins to fall for Camila all over again. But when he is offered his dream job, will he choose the job—or the woman whose heart he already sacrificed once?

Review: Sometimes in life, good things happen and stories fall into place. I recently reviewed another title by Kat Latham called One Night With Her Bachelor. As I read this story, some of the story kept feeling so familiar. Then the male character called her “Mila” and everything aligned–and I remembered the whole setup! So for the review I read on Kat’s website, yes indeed, her stories tend to stick in your brain–and pop up when you read the next one!

From the start, this book’s a sticky-sweet, hot mess of sexy scenes mixed with emotionally intense dialogue–exploding with the uncontrollable rush of feelings still alive between the long-lost lovers led astray by a well-intentioned parent. Camila Morales thought she’d be able to leave her anger behind and ask nicely for the favor she desperately needed. But just seeing Ash across the room brought all her emotions to the fore, and before she knew it, she was punching him in the face…not the way to get what she needed from him.

Ash Trenton had met a beautiful girl in Barcelona on vacation when he was eighteen; now at thirty-six, he’s retiring from rugby and at loose ends. He’s not sure what he’s going to do. When he steps in to the championship after-party, he sees a gorgeous woman across the room and recognizes her as Camila–a woman from his past. Approaching her, he’s stunned when she alternatively seems happy to see him and then decks him. Why the mixed signals? She says she wants to ask him for a favor, but there’s also a LOT of hostility. He never got any letters from her, so what’s the deal? Isn’t she the one who didn’t get in touch with him after their time together eighteen years ago?

Untangling the web of what happened takes some time, but fortunately, Ash agrees to help Mila with her problem. Saving her father’s camp by coaching a rugby seven’s team to a championship seems within his skill set. However, the constant surprises that keep coming his way as he embarks on this journey through the past–not only the ones Mila knew about but some Fate decides to throw in for good measure–are keeping him off kilter. When love blooms between Ash and Mila for the second time, will he make the same choice he did before when a new job opportunity presents itself?

Or will he give their love a chance?

Complex and filled with hot, sexy fun–Kat Latham’s writing is the best thing going. If you enjoy great romances with hot men and complicated women, immerse yourself in one of hers today!
