On the outside, Chuito ‘The Slayer’ Garcia in on top of the world.  He’s successful. He’s wealthy. He’s a champion MMA fighter surrounded by friends who support him, but they don’t know what he was before he came to Garnet.

A gangster.
A thief.
An addict.
A murderer.
Now his past is churning up demons he can’t ignore. Chuito knows he needs to go back to Miami to end it, but there’s something holding him back, a single temptation he can’t resist before leaving.

Alaine.

She’s the one drug he can’t give up…even if it destroys them both.

“To me you’re coke. Fine. Smooth. Perfectly white. Very bad for me, but so fucking sexy I don’t give a shit. It’s worth going down for.” – Chuito Garcia

Review:WEEEEPA!!  Esta chica ha entregado otro gran libro!

I loved The Viper.  I loved Marcos and Katie so much that they made my top ten favorite books of 2014.  I have no doubt that The Slayer will make my favorites list for 2015.  It’s that good. It’s not every author who can make a second book that’s just as compelling as the first, but she did It!
We met Chuito and Alaine in The Viper when Marcos came to Garnet looking for a job.  He stayed with Chuito for a while, and met Alaine while there.  Chuito sacrificed so much to make sure that Marcos and Katie could be safe and stay away from the gangster life, and I loved him then.  I love him more now.
Chuito is an extraordinary man…a world champion, a loyal friend and hotter than hades!  Big, beautiful, tattooed and totally ripped.  He tells Alaine from the beginning that he loves her as a friend but will never be in love with her.  Psst!  He never looked at another woman after he met Alaine!  Oops! Was that Spoilerish?  You will figure that out pretty early in the book, so…nope…not spoilerish.
And Alaine.  Sweet, sweet Alaine.  She is such a good girl.  By the time this book opens she has been in love with Chuito for years. She thinks it’s hopeless.  Sigh.  I felt bad for her.  She knows more about Chuito than anyone else, and nothing can make her stop loving him.  If only he would love her back.
But some bad things happen that threaten not just their possibilities for happiness, but their very lives.  I’m not kidding.  This book gets INTENSE!  Kele Moon can ramp up the danger in a book as well, or better, than anyone I have read.  I swore out loud in several places!  Holy Smokes!  I swear I will never go to Miami!  It’s like yelling at the dumb girl in a horror movie not to open that door!  Please, please, please Chuito…!  Don’t go to Miami!
I have to shut up now or I really will be getting spoilerish.  I just have a couple of things to say.  Tino and Nova.  The Moretti brothers.  THUD!  That’s me fainting…ow.  These brothers are something else.  Tino is Chuito’s best friend in Garnet and Nova is Tino’s brother. And…Nova is Chuito’s other boss…the “underboss” of the Moretti family.  A Mafia crime family.  Oh.  Boy.  I think, from clues in the story, that Tino might be the next story in the Untamed Hearts series.  I hope.  He’s hot.  But, man oh man, I love Nova too!  Either way, I will be happy.
I would be extremely remiss if I didn’t mention the translations of Boricua (Puerto Rican) and Italian phrases at the back of the book.  Marcos translates all of the Puerto Rican phrases and Tino…sigh…translates the Italian.  Their translations are hilarious and sexy as hell!  Do not miss it.  The translations section deserves a separate 5 Star rating of it’s own.
One more thing.  This book will be much better if you’ve read The Viper.  If you haven’t, and want to know more, read the review.
