1. Written in My Own Heart’s Blood by Diana Gabaldon
It’s Gabaldon. It’s Outlander. It’s Claire and Jamie. It’s my favorite book of the year.
2. Transcendence by Shay Savage
Anyone who knows me knows that I pimped this book for weeks! I loved Ehd! Who knew that a real caveman from 160 million years ago could win my heart so quickly and throughly? Luffs. (This one made Holly’s favorite list as well.)
3. Safe Words by Drury Jamison
This book. Wow. The writing, the story…the author! This is another book that made both my list and Holly’s. We teamed up to fangirl stalk the author! What a writer, what a story! The first three books on my list should all be co-number ones, but that darn Faye made me choose! Bad blog boss!
4. Invisible by James Patterson and David Ellis
I have always been a fan of mystery/thrillers, and this is the best one I’ve read in years. If you’re a fan of the genre, this one will keep you engrossed from page one, while scaring the crap out of you here and there! Creepy, spine tingly, perfect book.
5. Identity Unknown by Alana Matthews
This is book one in the Parker & Coe, Love And Bullets Thrillers series. As soon as I turned the last page, I 1-Clicked book two, Present Tense, and read them back to back! Laugh-out-loud witty, sexy and beautifully written, these are the perfect reads for those times when you’ve read too many sad or upsetting stories and just need to lighten up. I am looking forward to the next book, and smiling as I write this. Just thinking about Parker and Coe makes me happy.
6. Full Throttle by Julie Ann Walker
This is, in my opinion, the very best book…so far…in one of my top ten favorite series, The Black Knights, Inc. That’s a big statement, since I swore that every book in the series was “the best” as soon as they released. Julie Ann Walker just gets better and better. That’s another pretty big statement since she was damn good to begin with! What’s not to love? She gives us secret government agents in a motorcycle club! This is another book that both Holly and I chose as favorites.
7. A Penny for the Hangman by Tom Savage
A mystery/thriller that was, well, mysterious and thrilling! Tom Savage is a new to me author that wrapped me up in his story and didn’t let me go until the very end. Great work.
8. Deacon by Kristen Ashley
This is one of my favorite authors. She will always have at least one book on my favorites list. Nuff said.
9. Red Rose (Blood) by Michael Kudo
I remember thinking, when I read this book, that it was a little twisted for me to be laughing my butt off while the main character, Alex, was planning a murder. Michael Kudo did a fabulous job of making me love a professional assassin! How did that happen?
10. Vanished by Carter Quinn
Carter Quinn is an auto buy. I love everything he has written. This one is heartbreaking. It had me crying crocodile tears up until the very end……was that hope? OH. My. God! I want the sequel! This one made the favorites list of several of my blog mates. We all loved it!
