Whit’s best of ’14

1. Beneath the Stain by Amy Lane

This was just my style Amy Lane. Little doses of pain and angst dished out weekly because I read it as a serial. The rags to riches trope was brilliantly done. The rock star and his manager forbidden love story made me melt ❤ I even scored a t-shirt with the band logo!

2. Vices by Nash Summers22880113

This book was amazing! Military, cyberpunk, dystopian, espionage, ex-lovers meet again, boss/subordinate love story, and who the hell can you really trust! This is a super intense and brilliant story. I didn’t shut up about this book for weeks.

3. Dead End by Stephen Osborn

If anybody told me I’d love a series with a ghost love triangle this much I’d call BS. This is the final book in a wonderful paranormal series. These stories do tip to the creepy side. The love story is so hauntingly beautiful. Literally.

4. Daylight Again by SE Jakes

This is just up my alley. Witty banter and tough guys run around solving crimes while falling for each other. The mind games are fun as well. You get little puzzle pieces here and there that amp up the anticipation and keep you wondering what the truth is. Oh and the characters are awesome alphas!

5. Hell & High Water by Charlie CochetHellHigh&WaterLG

Have to agree with Faye. This one has shifters and the military aspect I love. Funny and intense. Awesome world building! Sexy gruff lovable characters. Waiting not so patiently on book 4.  😦

6. Chasing the Dragon by Kate Sherwood

My favorite book ever by this author. Addict/ex-addict and a military man (I obviously like that theme) and their smoking hot journey to get it together and get it right. While fighting the bad guys. Lots of action! This book gave me a wicked book hang over in the best way possible.

7. Fight by Kelly Wyre20986700

This book sucked me in right away. Mmm….deliciously gritty and imperfect characters I completely fell for. Fury’s character was particularly intriguing and vivid. If you enjoy character driven stories, you’ll love these guys.

8. Dirty Deeds by Rhys Ford

One of my favorite series and couples. I just can’t get enough. I’ll be so sad to see Jae and Cole go but the journey has been amazing! ❤ Good thing this author keeps giving me other series to read because I’m a greedy bitch when it comes to her work. 🙂

9. Rare by Garrett Leigh

This is my favorite series by this author who is an auto buy for me. The first book was so heartbreakingly beautiful you’d think the sequel couldn’t match it`. Well it did. Ash’s character had such an effect on me, just seeing the cover brings back the consuming emotion I felt while reading this series. It hurts SO good!

10. Highfell Grimoires by Langley Hyde

This was a wonderful unique read. A magical steampunk romance where good ultimately triumphs over bad. I completely adored both Neil and Leofa. Brilliant world building with a Victorian feel to the story.

  1. Yes! Agree with me! Muahaha! I love that series so much. And Tom and Prophet! There was so much goodness in ’14.

  2. I love your list. It speaks to me. Several books listed I have not read, but sound as though I’d seriously enjoy them. I agree about the books written by Rhys Ford, Kate Sherwood, and Charlie Cochet. They were stellar. The other authors I’m adding to my “To Be Discovered” list and I’m looking forward to reading them.
